Earth, Air, Fire, Water
Four large (5ft x 4ft) semi-abstract canvases, representing the four evangelists, combined with the four elements, with reflections by Rosalind O'Melia. A rethinking of the traditional symbols for Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (Man, lion, bull and eagle) which also explores aspects of the divine which each gospel emphasizes, linking in with ideas of creation and the natural world, and which invites questioning and contemplation. Musician Joy Gravestock provided improvised violin responses at Melbourne where they were first shown.
